About Bob Young
“Pastor to those the church has rejected – Pastor to those who have rejected the church.”
My name is Bob Young. I graduated with honors from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Oregon, in 1983. I majored in Biblical Studies, with a Pastoral Ministries concentration. Prior to attending NCU, I spent 6 years in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After graduating, I was the pastor of a small church for a couple of years, and then returned to a full time career in communications electronics. Today I own and operate FIFO Networks in the Seattle area.
For my “day job,” I travel around the country providing training in communications electronics, network security, and network data flow to companies like T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Georgia Power, and Southern California Edison. I also do consulting and system design for city wireless systems, VA Hospitals, Washington Department of Natural Resources… I’m not going to bore you by describing it here, other than to say you can check my website for more info.
The rest of the time I write, teach, and speak about my faith. Like I said, I travel a lot – and if you want me to speak at your church, retreat, or whatever, contact me and let’s start setting something up. You can hear a sample of my speaking on the Schedule Me To Speak page and learn more about it. You can help by recommending me to your pastor and ministry leaders.
My wife, Penney, and I have been married since 1973. She is wise, gracious, loving, and describes herself as wanting “to mother the world.” We have two adult children – Tim and P.J. – that we are extremely proud of.

One final thought. As you look around, be open to the possibility that you’re here for a reason. God is gracious, and you might be standing at the beginning of a wonderful new path.
